| We only deliver herbs that do not exceed
the following maximum amounts - currently applicable in Germany:
Pesticides
The following table shows the maximum amount of selected pesticides
that may not be exceeded in drugs according to the currently valid
legal ordinance. For other pesticides, the ordinance on the maximum
amount of residue of herbicides, fertilizers and other agents in
or on food and tobacco products will be applied.
| Pesticides |
Max. amount (mg/kg) |
| Organochlorpestizide |

| Organophosphorpestizide |

| Pyrethrolde |

Heavy metals
Contamination with heavy metals will be assessed on the basis
of the draft announced by the German government on recommendations
for maximum amount of heavy metals in medicines of vegetable or
animal origin. (Arzneimittel-Kontaminaten-Empfehlung Schwermetalle
- that is the Recommendation for contamination of heavy metals in
medicines - in its most up-to-date-version - AKEmpfS). According
to these recommendations the maximum amount of heavy metals in plants
and parts of plants as well as products from plants and parts thereof
should not exceed the following amount, regarding the oven-dry mass:
| Heavy metals |
Max. amount (mg/kg) |
| Blei |
5,00 |
| Cadmium |
0,20 |
| Quecksilber |
0,10 |
| Arsen |
10,00 |
The concentration of heavy metals in drugs of vegetable or animal
origin varies, depending on the absorbing capacity and the distinctive
metabolism of the particular organisms and the soil's quality. Therefore
exceptions are being made for e.g. Cadmium of up to 0.5mg per kg.
Aflatoxines
Aflatoxines are mainly products of Aspergillus Flavus and A.parasititcus.
They are primarily found in aliphatic products, milk and milk products
in a humid-warm climate. It is not rare to find a concentration
of 100 up to 1000mg per kg. According to the ordinance on the maximum
amount of aflatoxines in food products (currently valid aflatoxine
ordinance) and according to the regulation that prohibits the use
of substances contaminated with aflatoxines in the production of
medicines (currently valid aflatoxine prohibition ordinance) in
Germany, the following maximum amounts are presently allowed:
| Aflatoxines |
Max. value (µg/kg) |
| B1 |
2,00 |
| Summe B1, B2, G1, G2 |
4,00 |
